recognising time to rest
Remember, in your busy day, you have time.
I had the most fantastic time at StationeryFest and JournalFest ❤️ Having a stall and meeting customers face to face… seeing my journal pals, meeting new ones. Shopping with all the amazing stalls at StationeryFest. SO GOOD! Came home utterly exhausting after a weekend of peopling and a six hour journey home (all worth it) but spent yesterday feeling like I needed to get on. Unpack, stock take, tidy up etc… then I remembered I had some happy mail arrive from my penpal Rebekah just before I left, that I had saved for my return.
Rebekah’s beautiful stars
So in my fighting to be busy when feeling exhausted I decided to sit down for a minute and open that. I’m so glad I did, so much paper joy inside, including her epic paper stars. Two of which really stood out “create art” and “choose you”… I was tempted at this point to choose myself and make done art rather than be busy, but instead I told myself I had things to do as soon as I finished reading my letter. Then I looked through the lovely little images Rebekah had typed words on for me, and the “rest” image stood out. At which point I decided that I *would* in fact choose me, listen to my body and rest for a moment and create some art. I had a little play in my junkDori junk-journal, which was very soothing for the soul. Then had to giggle as I put all Rebekah’s paper treasure back into the main envelope and say she had typed “you have time” on it 🤭🥰 someone definitely knew I would be having some Mary Martha issues, not be listening to my body’s clear signs and need a little prompt to have bit of down time after such an exciting weekend away ❤️
