Bespoke Hand Engraving in Northumberland

Bespoke Hand Engraving in Northumberland

A name, a meaningful word or a handwritten detail can transform an everyday object into something completely personal.

Grace & Salt ink offers bespoke hand engraving from Northumberland, adding individually engraved lettering to glass and other suitable surfaces for gifts, weddings, celebrations, events and brand projects.

Each piece is engraved by hand by Rebecca, bringing the character of modern calligraphy to a permanent finish that can be enjoyed long after the occasion itself.

Personalised by Hand

Hand engraving has a very different quality to machine personalisation.

Each name, word or detail is carefully created individually, meaning the finished piece retains the subtle character of something genuinely made by hand.

From a perfume bottle personalised with someone's name to a meaningful keepsake created for a wedding or special occasion, engraving offers a beautiful way to make an object feel entirely its own.

Grace & Salt ink can engrave glass and selected suitable surfaces, with each project considered individually to make sure the item and finish are appropriate for hand engraving.

Personalised Engraved Gifts

Sometimes the most memorable gifts are the ones made especially for the person receiving them.

Hand engraving can add names, initials or short meaningful words to suitable items, creating a personal keepsake for:

  • birthdays

  • anniversaries

  • Christmas

  • milestone celebrations

  • bridal parties

  • thank-you gifts

  • weddings

  • special occasions

Whether you already have an idea in mind or would like to discuss what might be possible, please get in touch.

Personalised Perfume Bottles

Grace & Salt ink's 10ml refillable glass perfume bottles can be individually hand engraved with a name or word of your choice.

They make beautiful personalised gifts and are particularly lovely as individual gifts for bridesmaids, a maid of honour, mothers of the bride or groom, or other important members of your wedding party.

Each bottle is engraved by hand, creating a small keepsake that can be refilled and used again.

Engraving for Weddings

Hand engraving can bring another layer of personalisation to your wedding details.

From individual bridal party gifts to personalised favours and meaningful keepsakes, engraved pieces can be created to sit alongside your Grace & Salt ink wedding calligraphy.

Using handwritten lettering across place cards, signage, gifts and engraved details can help create a beautifully considered thread throughout your celebration.

If you have an idea for your wedding that you do not see listed, I would be very happy to discuss what might be possible.

Engraving for Events & Brands

Personalisation can turn an object into part of an experience.

Grace & Salt ink is available for selected event, corporate and brand engraving projects, including personalised gifting, product engraving and creative activations.

Hand engraving can work particularly well for:

  • product launches

  • customer gifting

  • press and influencer events

  • corporate gifting

  • VIP events

  • Christmas activations

  • personalised brand experiences

Projects can be developed around the item, event and brand requirements, with lettering created to complement the overall visual identity.

For larger commissions or event enquiries, please include your date, location, approximate quantity and details of the items you would like personalised when getting in touch.

Live Engraving & Personalisation

For selected events, engraving can become part of the experience itself.

Live hand engraving gives guests the opportunity to watch their item being personalised, turning the finished piece into both a gift and a memory of the event.

This can be particularly effective for brand activations, launches, corporate celebrations and luxury gifting experiences where a personal interaction adds value to the finished product.

Grace & Salt ink is based in Northumberland and can discuss event enquiries across Northumberland, Newcastle, the wider North East and selected locations further afield.

Have Something You Would Like Engraved?

If you already own an item that you would like personalised, please get in touch before sending or delivering it.

Not every material, coating or surface is suitable for hand engraving, so I will first need to understand what the item is made from and assess whether it is appropriate for the process.

Photographs and product information are helpful when making an initial enquiry, and a test may sometimes be needed before a commission can be confirmed.

How Bespoke Engraving Works

01. Tell me about your idea

Send details of the item, the wording you would like engraved and the date you require it for.

For events, please also include the venue, expected number of guests or items and approximate timings.

02. We consider the details

I will look at the material, available engraving area, lettering and practical requirements of the project before confirming what is possible.

03. Receive your quotation

Bespoke engraving is quoted according to the item, wording, quantity, complexity and project requirements.

04. Your engraving is created

Once everything is agreed, your piece is carefully engraved by hand.

Hand Engraving FAQs

What can you engrave?

Glass is particularly well suited to hand engraving, including selected perfume and fragrance bottles. Other surfaces may also be suitable depending on their material, shape and finish.

If you have a specific item in mind, send photographs and product details when you enquire and I can advise whether it may be suitable.

Can you engrave an item I already own?

Potentially, yes. Each item needs to be considered individually because coatings, materials, shapes and finishes can affect whether it can be safely and successfully engraved.

Please contact me before sending an item.

Can you engrave names?

Yes. Names, initials and short words are particularly suited to hand engraving.

The amount of lettering possible will depend on the size and shape of the item and the available engraving area.

Is the engraving permanent?

Hand engraving physically marks the surface of the item rather than applying printed lettering, creating a lasting personalised finish.

How much does hand engraving cost?

Pricing varies depending on the item, lettering, quantity and complexity of the commission.

Ready-to-order personalised products, including engraved perfume bottles, are available through the Grace & Salt ink shop. Bespoke commissions, event engraving and brand projects are quoted individually.

Where is Grace & Salt ink based?

Grace & Salt ink is based in Northumberland, with commissions and event enquiries welcomed from across Northumberland, Newcastle and the wider North East.

Selected event and brand projects further afield can also be discussed.
