New Years tends to give a lot of time for quiet reflection. On the year that's just closing and the year that's just opening. The last few years I've taken this time to sit with God and ask Him for a word or verse for the new year. It isn't always at new year that a new season starts, sometimes these seasons start seemingly randomly - a Thursday afternoon in March maybe. But New Years is still a good time to take a moment to reflect and think ahead. What have I achieved, learned, discovered, lost and found over this last year. What do I want to achieve for God in this new coming year, what would I like him to do in my life? Who's lives am I going to commit to pray into, pour into, journey with and build up? "RESToration" isn't a new word for me this year, it's one God has spoken to me over the last year and I've seen incredible evidence of in my life. I've seen restoration of relationships I didn't think possible, I've learned about rest and how important it is. To be able to trust God and rest in his arms rather than always striving forwards even when I'm exhausted. I think there's still more for me to come out of this word, but I'm also taking time today to seek out a new fresh word for 2017.
What's your word / verse for 2017? What's your biggest prayer for 2017?
